I'm a Title. Click to edit me

Hi, my name is Claire Terry. At the age of 6 I started violin lessons with Ramona Stirling, a well known and respected teacher in the Suzuki community. When I was 14 years old I continued my violin studies with Gerald Elias (associate concertmaster of the Utah Symphony). After high school I attended Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. While there I was the recipient of the Music Faculty Award Scholarship and took lessons from Kathleen Winkler. After my freshman year I transferred to the University of Utah and finished my degree in Violin Performance.  During my time at the University of Utah I studied with Ralph Matson (concert master of the Utah Symphony) and was the recipient of multiple music scholarships. I was also  a member of the O.C. Tanner  and Mount Olympus Honors String Quartets, under the direction of Hasse Borup.

Currently I am living in Kaysville with my husband and three sons. I have been teaching the violin for over 15 years now. I am certified in the Suzuki method and have had training with Denise Willey, Allen Leib, and Jeanne Grover. Being trained as a Suzuki teacher has completely changed the way I think about teaching music. I love the Suzuki philosophy and I have seen first hand how well it works. I love playing the violin and find so much joy in seeing my students succeed.
